Discover Your Style

As much as I hate to say this, It's almost the end of summer.  Whether your already back to studying, planning a last Vacay, are heading back to work, or nothing has changed for you, there is one thing we all will have to do if you haven't started already. Back to school/work/ fall clothes shopping! Rather than stocking up on just any and everything and later have to purge a ton of things that were never or hardly worn, this would be a great time to discover your personal style! This will help you maximize the pieces of your wardrobe you already own, and refrain from buying things you don't need. Below are steps to take to discover what your style may be, and a few different style types. This is not a complete list, but a nice variety of more known/common styles

Talk to yourself: Figuratively of course.. But no judgement :) . What are you comfortable in? What colors, items, patterns and etc do you feel you look your best in or make you feel confident? What is your lifestyle & schedule like? How much time will you really have to get ready? How often will you really dress up or in a more styled look?

Clean out your closet: This is not as bad as you think! Once you have started to ask yourself the questions above, going through the clothes you already have will be a lot easier. Separate your items between the things you do wear, the things you would or want to wear & of course, things you don't wear and/or no longer wish to wear. Obviously you can donate or be rid of the pieces you don't or wouldn't wear.

Research: People find fashion inspiration in many different places and ways. Once you have gone through the questions and your closet, you will hopefully find a pattern or some similarities. These can help you determine what your style really is. Look up outfits using some of the pieces you have. (Google. Pinterest. Polyvore) Take note of what kind of pieces are paired with these items that you like.

Below is a list of some major style-types to help you determine what yours may be.
