Curly Girl Reviews: Garnier Fructis Curl Nourish
*non sponsored post
Hello beauty babes! One thing I love about my best friend Nina is our many things in common. We both are about 5' 2", have a very similar skin tone, love shopping & 'arts-y' things, love shoes, and have some crazy curly hair. She has a different curl pattern then mine. (Hers : 3A type , Mine: 3c & 4a mix, for those of you that use the curl categories). However we both still sometimes struggle to find products and hair regimens that will meet all of our needs.
For the past 2 weeks, we decided to give the Garnier Fructis Curl Nourish Shampoo and conditioner a try. By that I mean I needed a new shampoo and wanted to see how well it worked on two different hair types and told Nina to use it also and shes always game for trying new things. (*sigh* shes such a doll. I just love her). The store i bought it from didn't have the leave in conditioner and i wasn't sure if I really wanted to try and track it down at another store if i didn't even like the shampoo and conditioner. Not to mention I have a TON of other leave-ins' at home already. Its a very affordable line and product but I sometimes hate having tons of un-liked & barely used products around.
Nina's thoughts:
Rate: 4/5 . "I loved the smell. After the 2nd use I could see the difference in softness and little more definition of my curls. I love that its vegan. I'm not sure if the leave-in conditioner was supposed to suffice for the lack of added moisture tho. I was hoping for more of that since not everyone likes or uses a leave -in. Overall it was nice. "
After seeing both of our results, I wondered if this is best for slightly looser curl patterns. After the first use I could see a pretty good difference in Nina's hair. We both struggle with moisture & frizz. However Nina tends to struggle a bit with breakage and strength. In the midst of it drying I could see a little less fuzzies and fly-aways than when she normally washes her hair.
My thoughts :
Rate: 3.5/5 . I too liked the smell. The shampoo was super lather-y for it to be sulfate free. I also could tell a slight increase of softness and a tiny increase of my curl definition. I also love the vegan formula and that the bottle is made from recycled materials. I was very disappointed by the lack of added moisture. I know the leave in is probably what sets it off. At the same time moisture is a key element to sustaining curly hair.ESPECIALLY then adding strength to help fight frizz. It should have some kind of appearance or part of any hair product. I am considering getting it now or finding someone with it so I can try it for myself to see if that makes a huge difference before I decided whether or not to give this product line another go or add it to my hoarding. I also do not like that the shampoo directions are very vague and that the conditioner directions are technically not correct...but that's another article for another day.
Have you all tried this yet? What were your thoughts?..Anyone wanna send me a sample of that leave in conditioner?... no?.. Thought I'd ask... Lol. Comment below and tell me your thoughts and what other products you want us to try!
